How long are your short term carrier rentals?
They are for a period of two weeks.  This should allow you to test all the positions in this carrier.

How long are your library rentals?
They are a month long.

Can I get an extension on an existing rental?
Loans can be arranged for longer periods.  Fees are determined on a case by case basis.

Why is there a membership fee?
The membership fee allows me to lower the cost of lending a carrier in addition to extending the rental period to a month.

Why do members have to pay a mandatory deposit?
This mandatory deposit protects you as a member of the library.  If someone borrows an item and does not return it in time, and you were the next person who had requested that carrier, the deposit allows me to replace it almost instantly.  This guarantees that you will get the carrier you requested should my original go missing or be damaged.

Are there late fees?
Yes.  There is a late fee of $6 per week minimum for items valued at $150 or less.  Please see the complete late fee scale for more information (in your membership kit).

Are we sent reminder notices?
Yes, a reminder notice will be sent out by email 5-7 days before the due date of the item.

What happens if I cannot return the carrier in time?
If there is no advanced notice from the library member, the weekly late fee will be applied and an invoice will be emailed to the library member.

If we have been given advanced notice, the late fee will be determined on a case by case basis.

As a member, can we borrow any babywearing books or DVDs?
Yes. ( there may be an upcharge for certain items)

Do you buy or sell carriers?
We will be looking at consignment and other options in the not too distant future.

What if I really like a carrier I’m borrowing from you?  Could I buy it from the library?
Not the specific carrier, however, we will order the same type of carrier for you at the retail price + shipping & Handling & Taxes.

Who cleans the carriers?
The client is strongly encouraged to spot clean the carrier before its return.  Instructions will be provided with each carrier rental.  Do not put the carrier in the wash.  Carriers stained or damaged beyond repair will subject to a fine.

When I rent a carrier, do I get any take-home instructions?
All clients will be sent an email containing the correct instructions for using the carrier they have borrowed.  This will also allow the client to check the internet should they need a refresher while on the road.  Paper copies will be provided upon request; a fee of $0.50 per page will be applied.
